Arrived on time as expected. Unpacked and everything looks good. Outside of tuning no setup required. Amazing for a bass at this price range. Tuners are not of the nice sealed variety but workable.Plugged it in and was surprised. Great action and nice snappy precision tone. Good for slap bass and other styles. Easy to handle. Only negative is that the tone control didn't have much range. Pretty much like a two way switch.I would not hesitate to buy this for any beginning or intermediate player. Lots of fun and so comfortable. Gloss neck, which isn't my favorite, but pretty fast.

I bought this JTB 402 bass at a can't pass price ($115) after wanting a black one for some time as a first bass to learn with and try out. It is much nicer than I imagined it would be, and it sounds great even though I have no true bass amp. It did require some time to get it set up and lose some buzzing but I am no expert and it sounds and plays great now. I suspect maybe the cheap price I paid didn't afford me a complimentary setup job but no matter. This is my second Jay Turser and I love my JT 200D almost as much as this bass. I don't see much to complain about with it for the price, it is a respectable guitar and fun to play.

Bought this without trying out any Jay Turser basses before, and was greatly surprised by the quality and playability of the bass. Had my local tech. look it over and he said it easily compared with any other 4 string under $1000.00! Let the bass player of a local band look at it and he liked it better than the $600 one he gigs with.
